National Hug Your Dog Day

National Hug Your Dog Day
Don't have to tell us twice!

April 18, 2023

In celebration of National Hug Your Dog Day our hospitals showed just how much love they give their patients each and every day. As experts in their patients’ care, they of course know which fur babies appreciate a squeeze cheese over a physical squeeze.

Douglas Boulevard Veterinary ClinicDouglas Boulevard Veterinary Clinic - Roseville, California
Sending a big Douglas Boulevard welcome to Baily. She was so good at posing on her own, they don’t have a shot of her getting snuggled. At just 13 weeks old, she won everyone over at the clinic. This poodle mix is definitely a crowd favorite.

Orchard Veterinary HospitalOrchard Veterinary Hospital - South Burlington, Vermont
This floof-ster visited the Orchard Veterinary Hospital this month. As a Newfoundland there are only so many weeks that a pick up like this will be feasible and the team took advantage. Willa is just 11 weeks old and is basking in all her teddy bear cuteness.

Penny Paws ArlingtonPenny Paws Arlington - Arlington, Texas
Sam was recently promoted to Lead Receptionist at Penny Paws and has been on the team since July 2022. With three fur babies of her own, including a golden retriever mix and two pit bulls, she came with a lot of hug experience. What she enjoys the most about her job is working with pets and learning different techniques to help them (and cuddling them!).

Madera Veterinary CenterMadera Veterinary Center - Madera, California
After surgery to remove a large sock, the team at Madera Veterinary Center showered Timmy with tons of gentle pets instead of embraces. He is a two-year-old shepherd mix and the most recent patient helped by MVC’s Angel Fund, which is a program that uses donations given to the clinic to help defray the costs of caring for animals in need.

Lantana Animal Hospital Lantana Animal Hospital - Lewisville, Texas
Alexa, a veterinary assistant at Lantana Animal Hospital, got a full-body hug from Cody the golden retriever. Cody was in to meet up with Dr. McClain and get checked. The whole hospital wanted in on these next-level snuggles and now they are counting the days until they see him again.

Hospitals shared their team activities and adorable patients to ring in spring, check it out!
