Cat Specialist Joins VetCor

July 16, 2020

Cat Specialist is the newest addition to the VetCor family – bringing our total number of locations to four in the Centennial State.

Established in 1998 by Dr. James (Jim) Olson, Cat Specialist is a feline-only hospital that has been owned and operated by Dr. Jennifer Lavallee since 2014. The hospital is proudly Cat Friendly Practice certified by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP).

A fourth generation veterinarian, Dr. Lavallee earned her DVM degree from Cornell University where she was named the recipient of the prestigious Daphne Award. Since then, she’s worked in a variety of veterinary settings including as a small animal practitioner, an emergency veterinarian, and a feline-only doctor. She regularly lectures at both state and national conferences and maintains an interest in academic research.

Dr. Lavallee works alongside her father, Dr. Olson, and Drs. Andrea Zikovitz and Katy Quinn. Like Dr. Lavallee, Dr. Olson is a graduate of Cornell University. His special interests include internal medicine, geriatric care, and client education. He has been awarded the American Animal Hospital Association’s (AAHA) Excel Award not once but twice.

A graduate of Canada’s University of Guelph, Dr. Zikovitz completed her small animal internship at a veterinary hospital in Massachusetts. Though she has experience working in emergency settings, cat care is her true passion. She is particularly interested in pain management, internal medicine, and genetics. A Colorado native, Dr. Quinn earned her DVM degree from Mississippi State University where she studied under feline specialist, Dr. Sharon Grace. A skilled surgeon, Dr. Quinn is currently being trained in feline nuclear medicine.

The doctors are supported by their two team leaders, Alex and Breanna, and a small but mighty team of veterinary technicians and receptionists.

Cat Specialist offers their clients a variety of services, ranging from wellness exams and vaccines to dentistry and surgery. They also utilize nuclear medicine to successfully treat cats living with hyperthyroidism.

It’s our pleasure to have partnered with such a well-loved practice. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Lavallee and her team, as well as the clients and patients at Cat Specialist, to the VetCor family!
