The Tail End: Compassionate Care as Summer Wraps Up

The Tail End: Compassionate Care as Summer Wraps Up
All smiles as we wrap up August!

August 26, 2025

As summer winds down, veterinary teams have been busy with a mix of farm calls, community events, and sweet exchanges in the clinic. From milking dairy goats to bonding over kittens with purrfect names, the season has been full of warmth and connection. Summer definitely brought some smiles, and now our teams are gearing up for fall.

Berrien Veterinary ServicesBerrien Veterinary Services - Baroda, Michigan
This summer Berrien Veterinary Services offered hands-on learning experiences to future professionals. During a recent farm call to Verdant Hollow Farms, student extern Alex joined Shannon from Berrien and Molly from Verdant Hollow for a lively day in the milking parlor, where the goats eagerly lined up for their turn. Other recent farm calls included a llama “mani/pedi” and a surprise walk-in request from a turkey, showcasing the variety and unpredictability of rural veterinary care. These real-world externship opportunities reflect a strong commitment to mentoring students while serving animals with heart and skill.

Northern Michigan Veterinary HospitalNorthern Michigan Veterinary Hospital - Williamsburg, Michigan
At Northern Michigan Veterinary Hospital, the end of summer has brought plenty of cute patients and meaningful moments. Lauren recently met two kittens named Sophie and Chloe, which just so happen to be the names of her nieces. The coincidence made everyone smile and turned a routine appointment into something special. It’s little surprises like this that show how veterinary care isn’t just about treating animals, it’s also about the connections that come with each visit.

Tender Touch Veterinary Hospital Tender Touch Veterinary Hospital - Scarborough, Maine
Veterinary care goes beyond the clinic walls, and this team proves it through their active presence in the community. At a recent Pet Rock in the Park event, staff members from Tender Touch Veterinary Hospital spent the day connecting with pet owners, meeting new friends, and catching up with familiar faces. Their approachable style and dedication to building relationships make a lasting impression, both at events and in everyday care. With a reputation for compassion and excellence, they continue to welcome patients while staying deeply rooted in the community they serve.

Health and Wellness Animal HospitalHealth & Wellness Animal Hospital - Hampton Falls, New Hampshire
As families prepare for the back-to-school season, Health & Wellness Animal Hospital is celebrating its own “teacher’s pets” including Georgia, an 11-year-old Boxer who’s been part of the hospital’s extended family for years. Georgia’s owner, a Morgan Equestrienne, has trusted the hospital with her pets for over two decades, and Georgia herself is no stranger to barn life and busy days around horses. Georgia came in for her Librela injection, which helps her stay active and playful, just like a puppy. According to team member Kelly, who snapped her photo, Georgia is a “perfect princess.”

Premier Vet Care Animal ClinicPremier Vet Care Animal Clinic - Rowlett, Texas
At Premier Vet Care Animal Clinic the team had the pleasure of welcoming Sylvie, a stunning Borzoi with a gentle and affectionate personality. Her graceful presence and calm demeanor made her an instant favorite during her visit. Dr. Nick spent time with Sylvie, and it was clear she left a lasting impression, not just for her beauty, but for the quiet charm she brought into the room. Encounters like this remind us that every pet has a unique story and spirit, and the joy of veterinary care often lies in these meaningful, one-on-one moments.
