Position Details

Role: Experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician
Status: Full-time
Salary: Negotiable and based on experience
Schedule: Four days per week, including at least two evenings until 6:30 PM and two Saturday mornings per month. No Sundays, overnights, or major holidays.

Wauwatosa Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team of veterinary professionals. As a multi-doctor, AAHA-accredited practice, we are committed to providing the highest standard of medicine and surgery while creating exceptional experiences for pets and their families. Our mission is to promote happiness through healthy pets, and we accomplish that through a combination of conventional and integrative medicine, including Fear Free and Low-Stress Handling techniques.

In addition to traditional veterinary services, we offer diagnostic ultrasound, echocardiography, acupuncture, acupressure, physical rehabilitation, therapeutic laser therapy, and massage.

What You'll Do

  • Assist veterinarians during appointments, treatments, and procedures
  • Provide compassionate nursing care and patient support
  • Perform venipuncture and sample collection
  • Process laboratory work and diagnostic testing
  • Fill and prepare pharmacy prescriptions
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs
  • Assist with surgical and dental procedures
  • Educate clients about treatment plans, medications, and preventative care
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
  • Support efficient hospital workflow and outstanding client service

What Our Veterinary Team Members Bring

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Positive attitude and desire to continue learning and growing
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Passion for patient care and client education
  • Surgery and dental experience preferred
  • Leadership skills and a proactive approach to patient care
