What Veterinary Technicians Do

• Safely handle and restrain patients during examinations and procedures
• Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient appointments
• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgeries, and dentistry
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples for in-house and reference laboratory testing
• Monitor anesthesia and assist during surgical procedures
• Educate clients regarding medications, preventive care, and treatment plans
• Maintain clean, organized surgery suites, treatment areas, and exam rooms
• Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation
• Collaborate with teammates to provide exceptional patient care every day

What Veterinary Technicians Bring

• Previous veterinary technician experience
• Strong patient handling and nursing skills
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
• Knowledge of laboratory diagnostics and sample collection
• Excellent communication and client education skills
