South Anderson Veterinary Clinic is Hiring a Veterinary Technician!

 

Position Details

  • Role: Experienced Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician
  • Status: Part-time
  • Salary: Negotiable and based on experience
  • Schedule: Two days per week plus a rotating Saturday shift. No nights, on-call shifts, or holiday hours.

South Anderson Veterinary Clinic is looking for a compassionate, dependable Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team. If you enjoy hands-on patient care, teamwork, and supporting both pets and the people who love them, we’d love to meet you!

 

Experienced veterinary assistants / Registered Veterinary Technician candidates are welcome. Confidence in patient handling and basic technical skills — or a strong willingness to learn — is essential.

  • Knowledge of preventative care and vaccines
  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
  • Diagnostic skills, including radiology, phlebotomy, and lab procedures
  • Clear, compassionate communication with clients and team members
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate medical documentation
  • Ability to triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories
  • Solid technical skills (venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection)

What You’ll Do

  • Triage patients and obtain histories, vitals, and assessments
  • Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Obtain diagnostic radiographs and perform in-house lab testing
  • Accurately document patient care and treatments in the medical record
  • Practice low-stress, fear-free patient handling
  • Educate clients with compassion and clarity
  • Maintain clean, stocked treatment areas; follow infection control protocols
  • Collaborate with the team to support a smooth, positive workflow
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development
