Position Details

  • Role: Licensed Veterinary Technician
  • Status: Full-time
  • Salary: $27–$30 per hour
  • Schedule: 4 or 5 days a week, rotating Saturday (1 a month)

Raritan Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. We’re a community-focused hospital that values high-quality medicine, strong client relationships, and a supportive, team-driven culture.


Our technicians are essential to everything we do—from hands-on patient care to client education. You’ll work closely with our veterinarians and support staff to deliver both routine and urgent care, participate in surgery and dental procedures, and conduct their own set of appointments with the support of our vet assistants. We encourage you to expand your skills by offering CE opportunities through meetings and mentorships to support you through your career with us.


This is a full-time position (30–40 hours/week) with a rotating Saturday schedule; they can be 8 or 10-hour shifts.


Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive patient care, including handling, restraint, and husbandry
  • Educate and communicate clearly with pet owners
  • Assist in surgery and dental procedures, including anesthesia monitoring
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Perform and manage diagnostics (lab work, imaging, etc.)
  • Administer medications and treatments
  • Triage and respond to urgent or emergency cases
  • Collaborate closely with veterinarians and team members to deliver high-quality care

Requirements

  • Min 3 years of experience as a veterinary technician
  • Veterinary technician licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT)
  • Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
  • A genuine passion for patient care and client service
