Status: Part-time
Salary: Negotiable and based on experience

Brackett Street Veterinary Clinic is a three-doctor small animal practice nestled in Portland, Maine's West End neighborhood. We're looking for an experienced Veterinary Receptionist who is passionate about client service, patient care, and creating positive experiences for pets and their families.

What You'll Do

  • Answer and manage a high volume of incoming phone calls
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate client communications
  • Greet clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
  • Collect payments and process invoices accurately
  • Explain hospital services, policies, and next steps clearly and confidently
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document client communications
  • Support efficient front desk operations and hospital workflow
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide exceptional client service

What Our Receptionists Bring

  • Previous veterinary reception experience preferred
  • Confidence handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Compassionate communication skills, especially in emotional or sensitive situations
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology and hospital workflows preferred
  • Experience with Avimark practice management software preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and positive under pressure
