Join our team at Winsted Hospital for Animals!
About Us:
Winsted Hospital for Animals, located in the scenic Litchfield Hills of Connecticut, is a modern, newly renovated animal hospital that’s dedicated to providing the highest standard of care for our patients.
Our hospital features fully equipped exam rooms, a spacious surgical suite, a large treatment area with wet tables, and a new ultrasound machine. We are committed to maintaining a positive work-life balance for our staff, which is why we do not hospitalize patients overnight or on weekends, instead working with local emergency and 24-hour facilities for overnight care.
We are currently a 100% small animal practice, focusing on canine and feline patients, and we offer state-of-the-art equipment including a CryoPen, dental radiograph equipment, a variety of in-house lab diagnostics, and much more. Our dedicated and experienced team includes 2 Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs), senior technicians, assistants, and a support team to assist our doctors. We emphasize teamwork, ongoing education, and a positive, supportive atmosphere.
What We Offer:
State-of-the-art equipment: Brand new ultrasound, dental radiographs, and more.
Mentorship: Whether you're a new graduate or an experienced veterinarian, we offer mentorship with extended appointment times, shadowing opportunities, and surgical training.
Flexible schedule: Typically 4-10 hour shifts with one surgery day per week, rotating one Saturday per month.
Work-life balance: We support flexible scheduling and prioritize a healthy balance for our team members.
About the Role:
Client Base: 100% canine and feline patients.
Caseload: Average of 10-15 appointments per day or 3-4 surgeries on surgery days.
Wellness vs. Sick Appointments: 30-minute wellness visits and 30-40 minutes for sick appointments.
Team: A close-knit, supportive group of technicians, assistants, and customer service representatives.

I would highly recommend anyone to work for a Vetcor clinic because of all the available resources they offer to their employees! These resources vary from continuing education to the importance of mental health and not burning out. Stonebridge has been one of the best places I have worked and has done nothing but help me pursue my goal of becoming an LVT.

There are programs including VetLife Days and Lend-a-Hand that allow you to spend time at other clinics. I have met some wonderful colleagues this way and have also been able to expand my leadership skills within Vetcor. I actually learned that I love teaching and supporting other veterinarians, especially new graduates. I love soft tissue surgery, so to be able to pass on that knowledge and skill set to new grads, giving them the confidence and skills they need to excel, has been very rewarding. It has been an amazing journey with Vetcor so far and I am excited to continue to be part of this amazing group.

The mentorship and advice from the Vetcor Chief of Staff Advisors have helped me become a better veterinarian and surgeon. They have filled me with confidence in order to become a better leader. Vetcor has been a great corporation to work for.
