Position Overview

The Hospital Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Colleyville Animal Clinic while supporting the hospital’s commitment to exceptional veterinary medicine, compassionate patient care, and outstanding client service.

Working closely with the Chief of Staff, veterinarians, technicians, client-care team, and support staff, the Hospital Manager ensures that the hospital operates efficiently, maintains high standards of patient care, and provides a positive experience for both clients and employees.

Colleyville Animal Clinic is a full-service veterinary hospital providing medical, surgical, dental, diagnostic, rehabilitation, boarding, and wellness services for pets in Colleyville and the surrounding communities. The Hospital Manager plays a central role in coordinating these services and maintaining a culture built around compassion, empathy, integrity, teamwork, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Hospital Operations

  • Oversee the daily operations of the veterinary hospital, including scheduling, staffing, patient flow, inventory, facilities, and administrative functions.

  • Ensure the hospital maintains efficient workflows while preserving a high standard of patient and client care.

  • Coordinate with veterinarians and department leads to address operational challenges and improve hospital performance.

  • Monitor hospital policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and safe environment for patients, clients, and employees.

Client Experience

  • Ensure clients receive compassionate, professional, and timely service throughout their experience with the hospital.

  • Address client concerns and complaints with empathy and appropriate follow-through.

  • Help the team communicate clearly with clients regarding appointments, treatment plans, estimates, medications, follow-ups, and hospital policies.

  • Support client-retention and relationship-building initiatives.

  • Maintain the clinic's reputation for excellent service and personalized veterinary care.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Monitor hospital revenue, expenses, payroll, inventory, and other key financial indicators.

  • Help establish and maintain departmental budgets.

  • Monitor inventory levels and control product waste and unnecessary expenses.

  • Review purchasing and vendor relationships to ensure appropriate pricing and availability.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and resource utilization without compromising patient care.

Veterinary Hospital Support

  • Partner with the Chief of Staff and medical team to support high-quality veterinary medicine.

  • Ensure appropriate staffing and resources are available for appointments, surgeries, dentistry, diagnostics, hospitalization, and other services.

  • Support appropriate follow-up procedures and continuity of care.

  • Help coordinate referrals and specialty-care relationships when necessary.

  • Promote adherence to established medical, safety, and patient-care protocols.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have previous management experience in a veterinary hospital, medical practice, healthcare organization, or similarly complex service environment. Veterinary industry experience is strongly preferred.

A successful candidate should demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership and people-management experience

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Experience with scheduling and workforce management

  • Understanding of veterinary hospital operations

  • Experience with budgeting, inventory, and financial management
