Access to quality professional development is essential for career growth in veterinary medicine. At Vetcor, we proudly offer exclusive, in-person veterinary training designed to help our team members advance their careers. Hands-on learning not only builds new skills but also fosters a strong sense of community among veterinary professionals.
In May, Vetcor hosted an Advanced Dental Wetlab at the Animal Dental Training Center in Baltimore, MD. This specialized training focused on complex dental procedures such as extractions, early detection, and treatment of oral lesions.
The course emphasized deliberate, outcome-driven dental care. Dr. Luskin’s clear and encouraging teaching style helped participants build confidence in managing advanced dental cases. Attendees had the rare opportunity to work directly with seasoned instructors, gaining valuable insights not often available in everyday practice.
“This training gave me more confidence to tackle more complicated cases and thus help avoid referrals and my patients get care sooner and more efficiently. It was a very helpful wetlab.” Dr. Pang, Chief of Staff, Montvale Animal Hospital
Last month, veterinarians from nearby hospitals gathered at Lake Alfred Animal Hospital for a full-day of free CE with a hands-on ultrasound training session. Focused on small animal ultrasound, the workshop covered imaging of the liver, spleen, bladder, and gastrointestinal tract.
Participants practiced skills on live patients using advanced ultrasound equipment. Expert guidance throughout the day offered a fantastic opportunity to deepen diagnostic abilities while strengthening connections within our regional veterinary community.
“Learning never stops in vet med and we’re proud to be part of a community that’s dedicated to sharpening their skills and advancing patient care.” Alyssa, Hospital Manager, Lake Alfred Animal Hospital
Recognizing fear in patients is a vital skill for any veterinary team. Staff from Calvert Animal Hospital, Chesapeake Animal Clinic, and Solomons Veterinary Medical Center attended a behavioral training session led by Kristi Martin, LVT, CBST, ISFM, FB from the Animal Behavior Wellness Center.
They learned how to implement fear-free veterinary care techniques in their practices, enhancing patient comfort and improving overall care.
“It was an informative event, and it felt nice to be included in it. I would recommend that people attend a similar training and gain some new information about animals and how to keep them less stressed.” Latosha, Client Care Specialist, Solomons Veterinary Medical Center
Managers from four clinics met at Caroline Animal Hospital for a BI-sponsored educational event. The session focused on strategies to help pet owners manage medications easily through an online pharmacy.
These discussions aim to boost efficiency, increase client satisfaction, and most importantly, improve pet health outcomes.
“Being invited to a HM event really makes me feel seen and valued for the effort I've put in, it’s a great reminder that my work matters. This is also a great opportunity to grow individually as well as with a solid HM group. These types of events allow for open conversations with different ideas/suggestions that can be brought back and modified for each hospital's unique needs.” Cindy, Hospital Manager, Caroline Animal Hospital
“I was able to take pages of notes and get ideas of things I could bring back and implement in my hospital. It revamped my passion for our pharmacy and I was able to bring that back to my team.” Shannon, Hospital Manager, Leavells Animal Hospital
More than 60 Client Service Representatives attended an engaging session in Leesburg, VA, led by Wendy Myers. Sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim, the training encouraged CSRs to improve client experience by empathizing with clients’ concerns and emotions.
The session included practical tips on handling pricing questions and navigating difficult conversations. The interactive setting fostered a sense of community, allowing representatives to share best practices and support one another.
Attendees reported leaving with increased confidence and new skills to enhance client interactions and manage challenging situations effectively.
“Being part of the event felt like being part of a like-minded family who wants to see pets thrive and help owners understand that we are on their side to help accomplish this.” Corine, Client Care Specialist, Inwood Animal Center
