October Update from Our Hospitals
A veterinarian scarecrow is the most approachable kind!

October 22, 2024

From welcoming new patients and celebrating senior ones to hosting community and hospital contests, October is a bustling month for our hospitals. Discover how our deep community roots bring smiles to everyone’s faces.

Franklin County Animal HospitalFranklin County Animal Hospital – Rocky Mount, Virginia
The team at Franklin County Animal Hospital took part in the The Scarecrow Trail this year. This event was hosted by the Community Partnership for Revitalization in Rocky Mount Franklin County, a non-profit focused on preserving local history and creating fun community events. The hospital's veterinarian scarecrow is complete with a stethoscope and spooky skeleton pup. The team hopes to win but is mostly proud to be a part of such a cherished local event.

Merrifield Animal Hospital Merrifield Animal Hospital - Fairfax, Virginia
Merrifield has been a staple in their community since the 1960’s and, fun fact, it was the first animal clinic in the state of Virginia to offer dentistry for cats and dogs. This is Zoe, a lovely golden retriever who is all smiles at her latest visit to Merrifield Animal Hospital. The hospital is also AAHA accredited, a Cat-Friendly Practice and Low-Stress Certified, so there is quite a lot to smile about.

Veterinary Services of AikenVeterinary Services of Aiken - Aiken, South Carolina
Cassidi is holding the super adorable patient, Bubba! Bubba just celebrated his 15th birthday with the team, and they had him all dolled up in a bow tie. Cassidi has been one of the dedicated pet care attendants at Veterinary Services of Aiken since 2020. Not only does the pet care attendant team make sure everyone has a clean kennel or kitty condo and comfy bed (as well as so much more), they also send clients adorable pictures like this while they are away.

Family Veterinary ServicesFamily Veterinary Services - Montague, New Jersey
It's contest season and many of our practices are rolling out funny and creative contests for their teams and clients to participate in. The team at Family Veterinary Services is currently hosting a contest to see which staff-decorated pumpkin is the best. These are the pups from 101 Dalmatians, who also come with a large Cruella pumpkin, but there is also a bear pumpkin, Bob from Beetlejuice, and pumpkins disguised as cocktails. Clients can vote on their favorite in the hospital or on their Facebook page.

Lewis Veterinary ClinicLewis Veterinary Clinic - Linden, Pennsylvania
We can’t conclude our October updates without mentioning the great (Dane) Monty. This month, Monty made his grand entrance at Lewis Veterinary Clinic, padding in on his giant paws for his first visit with Dr. Rachel and the team. At just eight weeks old and already 23.6 lbs, Monty has a lot of growing to do. The team is preparing for his future yearly visits, knowing that his favorite activity is cuddling. Brace yourselves!
