Leadership at Vetcor goes beyond job titles, it’s about how we show up for our teams every day. Whether you're a veterinarian, hospital manager, technician, receptionist, or assistant, you have the opportunity to lead through your actions, attitude, and support for others. Our Leadership Model helps guide this mindset by training leaders to prioritize the well-being and needs of their team, because when teams feel supported, individuals thrive. Through Vetcor University, all team members have access to courses such as Mental Health: Building an Open and Supportive Culture, Less Pressure, More Persuasion, and Unconscious Bias and Its Effects in Veterinary Medicine, which help build inclusive and effective leadership skills. And through our network of mentors, team members can connect, share experiences, and learn from one another, fostering growth and leadership at every level.
What brings our leadership development programs and resources to life is how our team members experience and apply them in their day-to-day work.
For Regional Manager Talia Lucernoni, CVPM, SHRM-CP, Vetcor’s culture of growth has been a game changer:
“Vetcor’s culture of continued growth at all levels is what allowed me to move from HM to RM. The chance to connect with Directors, VPs, and Service Center team members during routine training calls is invaluable… Many of our leaders have walked in our shoes, which makes their perspectives relatable.”
She also appreciates Vetcor University’s evolving content:
“Leadership modules have always been available, but since the Employee Engagement team began producing new content, the program has become even stronger… My hope is that any team member who wants to grow their leadership skills will take advantage of these ‘bite-sized’ resources and feel inspired to go further.”
Mariel McCann-Landolfi, Hospital Manager at Parkway Veterinary Hospital, echoed the importance of accessible leadership training:

“As part of the Coaching for Growth webinars over the summer, I had the opportunity to connect with a ton of leaders and mentors across Vetcor. Hearing all of the different and similar struggles was a great reminder that none of us are in this alone. And now I have some people outside of my own market that I can reach out to if I'm looking for different perspectives. I also am starting to incorporate the Coaching Guidebook to create a more concrete coaching program into the new year.”
Mariel also emphasized the empowerment she feels in her role:
“When Vetcor empowers us to make decisions for our own clinics, we are provided the confidence to put these skills into action… My whole team is empowered with a ‘let’s make this happen’ attitude.”
Britni Rosala, RVT Hospital Manager, Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital shared how Vetcor’s culture encourages open dialogue and peer support:
“I think that Vetcor outwardly takes seriously others’ thoughts and abilities. I love that Vetcor offers HM training sessions. I was also given a ‘buddy’ to help me bounce ideas off. Vetcor promotes a culture that allows us to build community with other HMs.”
And when it comes to peer learning, the value is clear:
“The biggest resource I have used to help me be successful in my role is other HMs. Vetcor University also has some great webinars that have helped me learn ideas or different ways to approach a situation.”

“Something that has really given me a lot of insight is the Emerging Leader program that I am involved with this year,” shared Dr. Cerissa Noble, Chief of Staff at South Mill Veterinary Clinic. “I’ve really enjoyed the information on emotional intelligence and how to apply it in a masterful way to create benefit for everyone involved, turning difficulties into opportunities for resolution, growth, trust and improved relationships.”
Dr. Noble highlighted the value of mentorship as well: “I have also enjoyed my relationship with my COSA, Dr. Gretchen Zarle. Her encouragement has helped me maneuver through a few challenges, and her continued passion for her career has been an inspiration.”
At Vetcor, growing as a leader is a shared experience, not just a checklist. Team members have access to everything from hands-on training to mentorship, creating real opportunities for development. And we not only offer resources, we evolve them based on what our people tell us. Feedback from our annual employee survey, the Voice of Vetcor, has directly shaped many of our leadership programs, proving that when our teams speak, we listen.
Because when we invest in our people, we invest in the future of veterinary care.
