At Vetcor, gratitude takes many forms, from celebrating exceptional leadership and mentorship to recognizing teammates who step up when they're needed most. This month’s Thankful Thursday highlights the people and teams who make a meaningful difference every day through their compassion, commitment, and support of one another.
Andrea Zura, Groomer at South Mill Veterinary Clinic, shared heartfelt appreciation for a leader whose impact extends far beyond the walls of the clinic.
"I'd like to take a moment to shout-out our Chief of Staff, Dr. Noble.
Working alongside Dr. Noble is truly a privilege. She is an exceptional veterinarian, an inspiring leader, and one of the kindest people I've had the opportunity to work with. She leads with confidence, compassion, and integrity, creating a workplace where every member of our team feels supported, respected, and empowered to grow.
What sets Dr. Noble apart is the genuine care she has for people. She doesn't just want our patients to thrive, she wants every member of our team to succeed as well. She takes the time to mentor, encourage, and guide us, always believing in our potential and helping us become better at what we do. Her positivity, patience, and willingness to teach make even the most challenging days feel manageable.
As a veterinarian, Dr. Noble is incredibly accomplished, yet she never stops learning. Her dedication to continuing education and providing the highest standard of care is something I deeply admire. I especially appreciate her ability to blend traditional veterinary medicine with a thoughtful holistic approach when appropriate. She understands that great medicine isn't one-size-fits-all, and she approaches each patient with an open mind, compassion, and a genuine desire to do what's best for them.
More than anything, Dr. Noble leads with her heart. She has built a culture where kindness, teamwork, and lifelong learning are valued just as much as clinical excellence. Her leadership inspires us to be better for our patients, our clients, and one another.
South Mill Veterinary Clinic is incredibly fortunate to have someone like Dr. Noble leading our team. Thank you for your unwavering dedication, your mentorship, your compassion, and for believing in each of us. Your impact reaches far beyond the clinic and it does not go unnoticed. We are grateful for everything you do.”
The veterinary profession demands incredible resilience, and one hospital team demonstrated exactly that during a particularly challenging week.
Marisa Vest, Hospital Manager at Camden Pet Hospital recognized her team with these powerful words:
"Some weeks in veterinary medicine remind us just how much heart this profession requires. This week tested our team in ways that words can't fully express. Despite experiencing one of the hardest moments we can face, everyone showed incredible strength, compassion, and professionalism. They continued to support one another, care for our patients, comfort our clients, and carry on with the surgeries and responsibilities that still needed them.
I couldn't be more proud of this team. The dedication, resilience, and genuine love they bring to every patient and every family, every single day, is nothing short of extraordinary. Veterinary medicine isn't always easy, there are moments of joy, hope, healing, and celebration, but there are also days that leave a lasting mark on our hearts.
To our entire team: thank you. Thank you for showing up for each other, for our patients, and for our clients, even when your own hearts were heavy. Your compassion, strength, and commitment do not go unnoticed, and I am truly honored to work alongside each of you.
Please join me in recognizing this incredible team and everything they do. They are the heart of our hospital, and I am endlessly grateful for each and every one of them."
At Bear Branch Animal Hospital, teamwork and mentorship were on full display.
Reanna Miller, Technician at Bear Branch Animal Hospital recognized veterinary student Kaitlyn Klvac for her contributions:
"Awesome job Kaitlyn Klvac for helping with surgery yesterday. You are asset to the team! You made Dr. French and team very proud. Can’t wait for you to officially put the D in DVM!"
Reanna later shared additional context about Kaitlyn's accomplishments:
"The day I gave Kaitlyn a shoutout, she had assisted in a left forelimb amputation and a dog neuter. Kaitlyn is 3rd year Vet Student at St. George’s University. This experience reflected our clinic culture by building team work and hands on educational experiences. It is a very welcoming and supportive environment with even more room to grow. All our lovely DVMs at Bear Branch mentor Kaitlyn. That is Dr. French, Dr. Wilson, Dr. Hilscher, Dr. Freeman, and Dr. Vitanza.
The dog that had received both of those procedures that day actually was another employee’s pet, that was rescued by me back in May. Which further shows how teamwork can make a difference for the better."
Success is always sweeter when it's achieved together.
Rocky McGullion recognized the team at Companion Animal Hospital of Waller for an outstanding accomplishment:
"Just want to shout out my hospital staff at Companion Animal Hospital of Waller for having one of the most productive quarters the hospital has ever had. Couldn’t do it without them! I hope they enjoyed the bowling break we had this afternoon. They all deserve it."
Rocky also reflected on the culture that helped make that success possible:
"Our culture is hardworking, supportive, and genuinely caring. Our team is committed to keeping one another safe, whether that means following proper protocols, speaking up when something does not feel right, or stepping in to help during a challenging situation.
We also care about each other as people, not just coworkers. We understand that everyone has a life outside of the hospital, and we try to support one another through those responsibilities and challenges. I often tell the team, 'If you are not good at home, you will not be productive and present at work.'
What makes this team special is their dedication to our patients, clients, and one another. They work through busy and difficult days together, celebrate each other’s successes, and still find ways to have fun. I am very proud of what they have accomplished and the culture they continue to build."
Support often comes in the form of sharing knowledge, encouragement, and guidance during times of change.
Mackenzie Hayes, Hospital Manager at Epping Road Veterinary Hospital, recognized Crystal Fowler, Hospital Manager at Veterinary Healing Center for doing exactly that:
"Crystal Fowler I will forever be grateful for you. When I was transitioning into my hospital and our acquisition concurrently, you immediately stepped forward offering help. Since then, you've continued to be a pillar throughout the company adding helpful information and points of view. Thank you!"
Mackenzie expanded on Crystal's impact:
"When I joined my hospital and we were having our acquisition within the following couple of weeks, Crystal immediately reached out offering support and guidance on what to expect and to voice what I attribute to why 'Life is Better Here'. Since then, she continuously collaborates on questions I have, as well as others. I notice how much effort and love Crystal puts into what she does each day alongside her desire to help others. She is a wonderful colleague and an absolute pleasure to know from 'afar'."
From strong leaders and dedicated mentors to supportive teammates and resilient hospital teams, these stories remind us that Vetcor's greatest strength is its people. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to recognize a colleague, lend a helping hand, and contribute to the culture that makes Life Is Better Here.
