Thankful Thursday: Gratitude that Inspires

Here, you’ll find sincere messages that reflect the spirit of collaboration, and kindness that define our team. These words are more than just thank-yous, they’re reminders of the impact we have on each other every day. We hope they inspire you as much as they’ve inspired us. 

Tonya Wohler from Penny Paws, Arlington, Texas, wants to recognize Nichole Pierce, Technician: "Nichole always goes above and beyond to help her teammates! 

Nicole Curler from the OPS team wants to recognize Emily Losee, Payroll Associate: "Emily is always willing to help and communicates well. She answered my questions promptly and is a great support. I appreciate her and everything she's done to help me!” 

Crystal Fowler from Veterinary Healing Center, El Dorado Hills, California, wants to recognize Robert McCandless, Hospital Manager: "Robert is the hospital manager at Sunnyvale and despite being a busy guy, he is always willing to answer my questions about international health certificates.  I truly appreciate having someone so nice and knowledgeable that I can run something past!  Thank you, Robert, you rock!” 

Chad Harris, DVM from VP of Veterinary Leadership and Career Development wants to recognize Shannon Sullivan, Corporate Marketing Manager: "Shannon Sullivan is an invaluable member of our marketing team, consistently demonstrating a remarkable willingness to assist in all aspects of our projects. Her dedication and commitment to excellence are evident in every task she undertakes, as she goes above and beyond to deliver outstanding work and support. Shannon's proactive approach and unwavering enthusiasm make her a true asset to our team, and her contributions are deeply appreciated by all.” 

Christina Maples from the OPS team wants to recognize Kaley Unger, Recruiter: "I want to give a heartfelt shout-out to Kaley Unger for her incredible work supporting practices across New Jersey. She’s consistently gone above and beyond—not just helping to find doctor candidates but making sure they’re the right fit for each team. Kaley takes the time to visit practices and build real, lasting relationships with leadership, and it truly makes a difference.” 

Christina also wants to recognize Pam Aker, Hospital Manager, and Dr. Kazmierczak, COS at West Trenton Animal Hospital: “Also, a big thank you to Pam Aker and Dr. Kazmierczak for their commitment to thoughtful recruiting. Their efforts led to a great new addition to the team. From setting up individualized mentorship plans to creating a welcoming and warm space, they’ve worked hard to make sure things feel right for everyone involved.  Grateful for all the care and effort this team puts in as they welcome their new doctor to their practice and the community they support every day.” 

Lastly, Christina wants to recognize Liz Brooks, Director of Operations and Dave Peck, Regional Manager: "Huge shoutout to Liz Brooks—the ultimate mentor! Thank you for being patient, kind, and always showing up with support when it mattered most. I’ve learned so much from you and feel lucky to have been part of your team, focused on what matters most our people serving our beloved pets!  While I’ll definitely miss seeing all your smiling faces in the hospitals, I’m so excited that someone I’ve worked alongside (and totally trust!) is stepping in as your new RM: shout out to David Peck for diving right in!  You’re all in great hands, and I can't wait to see everything you accomplish together.  Team NJ/PA, thank you for letting me be part of your story—it’s been such a joy. Let’s keep the energy high and Crush 2025!” 

Alannah Labesky from the OPS team wants to recognize Eric Detrick, Hospital Manager at Always Compassionate Veterinary Care: "Eric has been very busy the last few months relocating one of the hospitals he manages to another lovely location.  He has done so much on the back end to keep things running smoothly, also while being a great mentor to other managers in the area.  You've done a great job Eric!” 

Alannah also wants to recognize Kayla Puster, Hospital Manager, Dr. Schuring, Dr. George, Dr. Graham and team at Bradford Hills Veterinary Hospital: "This entire team has had a lot of changes over the last couple of months. They have made some fantastic updates to their facility and are working so well as a team. I am really proud of everyone!” 

Lastly, Alannah wants to recognize Lauren Nestler, Hospital Manager at Pittsburgh East Animal Hospital: "Lauren recently joined Vetcor and took on the extreme challenge of supporting 2 hospitals.  She has had her hands quite full in the first two months. She is very dedicated to the doctors, staff, clients and pets in the community. Lauren, I appreciate all you’ve done so far and can’t wait to see how both hospitals continue to improve and thrive!” 

Margie Giles from Sanford Animal Hospital, Sanford, North Carolina, wants to recognize Dr. Jessica Potosky, COS, DVM: "We're so lucky to have such an incredible Chief of Staff leading our team!  Dr P is the glue that holds us all together and keeps us going every day!  Thank you for your heart, passion, support and just everything that you do!” 

Margie also wants to recognize Dr. Maria Kenny, COS, DVM at All Animals Veterinary Hospital: "I am so very thankful for Dr Kenny.  She does so much for me and for the clinic overall.  She has done an AMAZING job with All Animals and turning our clinic around.  She has such a big heart and wants the best for everybody including our staff, our patients and their owners.  Dr Kenny can multi-task like nobody's business, she is a wonderful veterinarian and leads our team with compassion and strength. All of us at All Animals are fortunate to have her and I personally feel especially fortunate.” 

John Bergeson from Tanneberger Veterinary Hospital, St. Albans, Vermont, wants to recognize Jazmine Reynolds, Hospital Manager: "Jazmine has gone above and beyond getting the practice ready for our practice management software conversion to Ezyvet.  There are going to be things that we still need to figure out, but she has built a lot of the templates, bundles, etc. and has done a lot of the pre-work to make the transition a little bit easier for the rest of us!” 

Melanie Mills from Auburn Animal Center, Auburn, Maine, wants to recognize the entire team: "I am so very proud of this team for their dedication to their clients and patients. Through an incredibly difficult couple of weeks, they have consistently done everything they can to put their patient care first. Way to go! I am so glad to be your RM.” 

Brittany Klopp from Central Animal Hospital, Petaluma, California, wants to recognize Dawn Bedell, Hospital Manager: "Dawn has been so helpful in answering all me Ezyvet questions, including letting me shadow her for a bit to see how she uses Ezyvet in action. Thank you so much for all your help!” 

Justine Wood-Graves from Southern California Vet Hospital, Woodland Hills, California, wants to recognize Sam Perry, Veterinary Assistant: "Sam never fails to step up to the plate, filling in whenever and wherever the hospital needs her. Her positive attitude and ability to 'dig in and get the job done' make her an invaluable member of our team. Thank you for all that you do, Sam! It doesn't go unnoticed.” 

Jennifer Bridgers from Coastal Animal Hospital, Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, wants to recognize Moira Rankin, Seasonal Veterinary Assistant: "Jennifer was accepted into University of Georgia Veterinary School and for all her hard work over the last few summers.” 

Jennifer also wants to recognize Brianna Burrus and Christina Messer, RVT and CSR: "Big thanks for all their hard work over last few months as we looked for a veterinary assistant.” 

Michelle Looney from Pittsfield Veterinary Hospital, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, wants to recognize Missy Meyer, Lead Receptionist: "Missy took on a whole lot of extra work and worked a lot of extra shifts when our HM was out on medical leave and we lost our lead in our Pet Resort. Fantastic Job!!!!” 

Melissa Strycker-Grzeskowiak from Western Veterinary Clinic, South Bend, Indiana, wants to recognize the whole staff: "I want to give a huge shout out to the entire staff at WVC for working together and being supportive and understanding when other team members are going through challenges. They often jump to fill in when someone is out sick or needing help or even come in on their days off to support a fellow coworker when their pet is ill or saying goodbye. We have a great team, and I am extremely thankful for them!” 

Brittany Poulin from Main West Animal Hospital, Welland, Ontario, Canada, wants to recognize Adrianna Provencher, Veterinary Assistant: "Shout-Out to Adrianna! We want to give a huge shout-out to Adrianna for being an incredible asset to our team! Her hard work, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond never go unnoticed. Whether it’s picking up extra shifts, lending a hand wherever needed, or simply showing up each day with a great attitude, Adrianna embodies what it means to be a true team player. Paulette Carr from Eastlake Village Vet Clinic, Chula Vista, California, wants to recognize Erica Salas, Vet Assistant: "Erica was there when we needed her and she steps in like she never left.” 

Brett Hensley from Animal & Bird Clinic of Mission Viejo, Mission Viejo, California, wants to recognize Ivanna Morales, Veterinary Assistant: "Thank you for stepping up with the controlled drug logs. Such a big help!” 

Ashley Cogovan from Killewald Small Animal Hospital, Amherst, New York, wants to recognize April Schultz, PCA/social media specialist: "April has been incredibly helpful in finding new and creative ways to organize the hospital and making sure everyone feels special and noticed on their birthdays, or recognized professional weeks via social media. You rock!” 

David Gagnon from Kaukauna Veterinary Clinic, Kaukauna, Wisconsin, wants to recognize Lauren Verkuilen, Veterinary Assistant: "Lauren has a great attitude and is a hard worker. She's a student at a local high school but is very mature for her age. She's eager and willing to learn and we're all very grateful to have her on our team!” 

Jodi McDowell from Loyalhanna Veterinary Clinic, Stahlstown, Pennsylvania, wants to recognize Amy Miller, Jennifer Weitzel, Alannah Labesky, from the OPS team and Eric Detrick, Hosptial Manager at Always Compassionate Veterinary Care, and Deb Maloy, Hospital Manager at Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital: "Thank you for the support you have all provided during the hardest week. Between the daily check-ins, calls, texts, it is so nice to know we have local support and are not alone in this devastating time.” 

Jodi McDowell also wants to recognize the whole LVC team: "Thank you to the entire team at LVC for weathering the storm.  It was a rollercoaster, full of emotions and frustration but I am so thankful that everyone pulled together and helped each other out during what has likely been the most difficult time in our career at LVC.” 

Jessica Daniels from the OPS team wants to recognize Dr. Dan Korpics, COS and Cynthia Gonzales, CSR at Park Animal Hospital and Wellness Center: "They took great care of my dog in what became a more urgent situation. So happy they had Saturday hours!” 

Erica Soto from the IT team wants to recognize Jodi Smoley, Hospital Manager at Primary Pet Care: "Huge shoutout to Jodi for her incredible work supporting the Ohio EzyVet go-lives and jumping in to help the PIMS team wherever needed. Her positivity, teamwork, and can-do attitude have made a real difference and are truly appreciated!” 

Kailee Coll from Creature Comforts, Las Vegas, Nevada, wants to recognize Natalie Meredith, LVT: "Thank you for your incredible dedication to training our new team members. She consistently goes above and beyond to make sure every new hire feels welcomed, supported, and set up for success. Her patience, kindness, and engaging teaching style make a lasting impact on those she mentors. Natalie truly embodies the culture we value through her compassion, teamwork, and excellence. Our practice is grateful to have her as part of our team. Thank you, Natalie, for all that you do!” 

Kailee also wants to recognize Shawn Laolagi, Veterinary Assistant: "Thank you for consistently showing up with a can-do attitude and a heart full of kindness. Shawn is always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, no matter the task, no matter the time. His selfless nature, compassion, and unwavering support for others truly make a difference in our hospital each and every day. Shawn, thank you for being a shining example of what it means to be a team player and for always putting others first.”
