Pro Bone-o: Vetcor's Legal Team Makes a Difference for North Texas Pets

We’re passionate about caring for animals, and that commitment goes beyond the walls of our clinics. We proudly support initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them. That's why we're thrilled to spotlight some incredible pro bono work recently undertaken by Vetcor’s legal team at Dallas Pets Alive! (DPA!). 

If you're not familiar, Dallas Pets Alive! is a game-changer in the North Texas animal welfare scene. They're on a mission to make the region a no-kill zone, working tirelessly to rescue at-risk pets, find them loving homes, and provide crucial resources to help keep animals in their homes.  

One of DPA!'s most impactful initiatives, and one that aligns closely with Vetcor’s mission and values, is their Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) program. This groundbreaking program is the only one of its kind in North Texas. Imagine the stress and heartache a pet owner feels when they're considering surrendering their beloved animal to a shelter. The PASS program steps in before pets ever reach the shelter doors, connecting owners with volunteers who provide vital resources to help keep families together. It's all about addressing those underlying challenges that can lead to surrenders, offering support and solutions to ensure pets stay right where they belong—at home. 

The Vetcor legal team was honored to lend their expertise to the PASS program! They rolled up their sleeves and got to work preparing essential materials to empower pet owners. Specifically, they focused on helping owners understand their rights concerning emotional support animals and providing guidance on navigating those crucial conversations with landlords. We all know how much our pets enrich our lives, and for those who rely on emotional support animals, having clear information and confidence in advocating for their furry companions is invaluable. 

This collaboration is a perfect example of how combining legal savvy with a deep passion for animal welfare can create a truly paws-itive impact. We're incredibly moved by our legal team for dedicating their time and talent to such a worthy cause, and we're so grateful to Dallas Pets Alive! for their tireless work in making North Texas a better, safer place for our animal friends.
