About the Role

Altitude Veterinary Hospital is looking for a full-time Kennel Assistant to join our team! As the only AAHA accredited practice in the area, we are seeking individuals who share our passion for excellent care and customer service! 

About Altitude Veterinary Hospital: Altitude Veterinary Hospital provides a high level of care for small pets. At Altitude we understand that our pets are more than just pets, they are family. In addition to being AAHA accredited, we provide a wide range of services including specialty services such as acupuncture and TPLO. Our team consists of 6 Doctors, 11 Assistants, and 3 Technicians. Along with these services we also offer boarding and grooming services. We are proud to work together to provide the highest quality of care to our patients and extraordinary service to our clients. We consider our employees our most valuable asset and strive to provide a fun, challenging, and positive work environment! 

Some of the responsibilities of a Receptionist are:

  • Clean and maintain both canine and feline kennels
  • Accurately process payments
  • Facilitate positive client interactions and bond clients to our practice
  • Schedule boarding appointments including conducting boarding consultations
  • Develop a working knowledge of common wellness needs for dogs and cats
  • Develop a working knowledge of common illnesses for dogs and cats
  • Demonstrate empathy and compassion while remaining professional providing a home-away-from-home experience for our boarders and clients
  • Be able to accurately multitask while maintaining great customer service
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

 

The Kennel worker will work under the Kennel Manager. Although experience is preferred, it is not required for this position. Our ideal candidate for this position will have the following traits:

 

  • An outgoing, and consistently positive personality to match our current culture and provide the level of service we want for our clients
  • Superior, compassionate, and upbeat client service skills
  • Self-motivated and interested in continually improving skills and knowledge
  • Able to work both independently (self-starter) and as a team player
  • Follows directions but is also able to think outside of the box and propose new ideas
  • Flexible and excited about change and growth in pursuit of a higher level of care
  • Detail-oriented, focused, and diligent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic cash handling, computer, phone, and other office equipment experience
