VetCor Welcomes Eighth South Carolina Practice

We are pleased to announce the addition of VetCor's 8th partner practice in South Carolina – Sunset Animal Clinic. Located in West Columbia, the hospital has been serving West Columbia, Oak Grove, Cayce, and St. Andrews for over 40 years.

Sunset Animal Clinic in West Columbia, SCSunset Animal Clinic was founded in 1983 by Dr. Greg Brown. Since then, it has earned itself a great reputation and loyal clientele, including the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s K-9 unit.

Dr. Brown grew up in Washington, D.C. and earned his DVM degree from the University of Georgia in 1978. He spent two years in the US Army where he worked as a veterinarian before relocating to Columbia in 1980. He has special interests in exotics and avian medicine.

Dr. Brown works alongside Drs. Mark Foy, Ellen Huse, Deborah Breland, Anna Ogburn, and Libby McKay. Dr. Foy has practiced at Sunset ever since he earned his DVM degree from the University of Georgia in 1992. A graduate of Purdue University, Dr. Huse has been with Sunset for over 10 years.

A veterinarian of 14 years, Dr. Breland earned her DVM degree from Auburn University. Dr. Ogburn earned her DVM degree from the University of Georgia and spent four years working at the Birmingham Zoo in Alabama. Dr. McKay is a 1988 alumna of the University of Georgia and has special interests in dermatology and behavioral medicine.

The doctors are supported by their hospital manager, Lisa, who has been with the practice for nearly 30 years, and a large team of veterinary technicians and receptionists who vary in specialty and skill.

Sunset Animal Clinic offers its clients a wide variety of services, ranging from wellness visits and vaccines to dentistry and surgery. In addition to seeing cats and dogs, Sunset provides care for pocket pets, exotics, and birds.
