Established by Dr. Kent Davis in 2004, Animal Hospital at the Crossing is a full-service practice that provides exemplary veterinary care to cats, dogs, and exotic pets in the sprawling city of Champaign.

A Florida native, Dr. Davis earned his DVM degree from Auburn University and served in the Army Veterinary Corps for two years. He has experience working with both large and small animals and, although he has many skills, he particularly enjoys surgery, ultrasound, and reproduction. He works alongside Dr. Tegan Stoerger, a veterinarian who earned her DVM degree from the University of Illinois. Her special interests include preventive care, dentistry, ophthalmology, and surgery.

The doctors are supported by Dr. Davis’ wife, Mindy, who doubles as the hospital manager, and an enthusiastic team of veterinary technicians, kennel assistants, receptionists, and groomers. They’re also joined by their two beloved clinic cats, Casper and Tooter.

Originally founded by Dr. Ed Martin in 1972 and AAHA accredited since 1979, Capitol Area Animal Medical Center was purchased by Dr. Deborah Keim in 1997. It has flourished exponentially in the last 46 years and has seen tremendous growth both in terms of size and client base.

Dr. Keim is passionate about surgery. She works alongside Drs. Mathew, Mannuel, and Stake. Dr. Mathew joined Capitol Area Animal Medical Center in 2008 and has a special interest in orthopedic surgery. His wife, Dr. Mannuel, has a background in emergency medicine and has worked at the practice for two years. Having worked at the hospital for over 30 years, Dr. Stake is a meticulous clinician with a great reputation.

The doctors are supported by their longtime hospital manager, Vicki Crum, and a hardworking team of veterinary technicians, kennel assistants, and receptionists who consider their clients to be family.

Capitol Area Animal Medical Center touts an in-house laboratory and offers its clients a variety of services, ranging from wellness exams and boarding to microchipping, ophthalmology, and surgery.

We are thrilled to partner with two practices that strive to provide outstanding veterinary care to their patients, all while treating them as if they were their own pets. It is our pleasure to welcome Animal Hospital at the Crossing and Capitol Area Animal Medical Center to the VetCor family!
