Originally purchased by Dr. Dan Berbert in 1984, Gaithersburg Animal Hospital has been a staple of the community for almost 40 years. This full-service animal hospital provides high quality care to local companion animals, pocket pets, and birds.

A Maryland native, Dr. Berbert, known to his clients as Dr. Dan, is a 1984 graduate of The Ohio State University. In September of that year, he purchased Gaithersburg Animal Hospital. Dr. Dan is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), and the Greater Baltimore Veterinary Medical Association (GBVMA).

Dr. Dan works alongside Drs. Deborah Alls, Lynne Haeussler, and Sarah Arnett. Dr. Alls is a 1988 graduate of Virginia-Maryland Regional College who has been with Gaithersburg for over 30 years. She has special interests in preventative medicine and obedience training. Dr. Haeussler graduated from Mississippi State College in 1992. Prior to joining Gaithersburg in 1994, she was the director of an emergency animal clinic in Charleston, West Virginia. A graduate of Midwestern University, Dr. Arnett is the newest addition to the team. Before joining Gaithersburg, she completed a one-year rotation at an emergency animal hospital.

The doctors are supported by their hospital manager, Kaleen Bynaker, their assistant hospital manager, Sandy Bynaker, and a large team of veterinary technicians and receptionists who love their work.

Founded in 1994 by Dr. Gary Stuer and his wife, Anne, Bethel Animal Hospital has been providing compassionate care to local pets for the past 25 years. The practice team prides themselves in providing competent care for pets at all stages of life and places an emphasis on preventative care and client education.

A 1987 graduate of Tufts University, Dr. Stuer regularly expands his expertise through continuing education. Over the past few years, he completed reiki training and became certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicines by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS).

Dr. Stuer is joined by Drs. Mary "Robin" Gorrell and Julia Schubert-Cowan. Dr. Gorrell is a graduate of The Ohio State University while Dr. Schubert-Cowan is a Michigan State University graduate. Both doctors are passionate about the human-animal bond and enjoy providing emotional support to pet owners in addition to caring for their pets.

The doctors are supported by their business manager, Anne Stuer, their hospital manager, Amanda Belanger, and a hardworking team of veterinary technicians and receptionists.

We are thrilled to partner with two practices that strive to provide outstanding veterinary care to their patients, all while treating them as if they were their own. It is our pleasure to welcome Gaithersburg Animal Hospital and Bethel Animal Hospital to the VetCor family!
