Located on Seawell Street, Sanford Animal Hospital (SAH) was built and founded in 1959 by Dr. William Settle ("Dr. Bill") earning a reputation as Sanford's country veterinarian. Originally, the practice provided ambulatory services to farm animals as well as 24/7 emergency care. In 1980, his daughter, Dr. Katherine Settle, and her husband, Dr. John Shontz, returned to the area to practice veterinary medicine. Drs. Settle and Shontz have owned and operated SAH for the past 24 years.
Sanford Animal Hospital boasts a loyal support staff that takes great pride in the hospital's history (as a second-generation family-owned practice) and the reputation in the community. The hospital, which now focuses on veterinary care for canine and feline pets, offers services such as canine reproductive services, orthopedics, and surgery, as well as full-service pet boarding and grooming.
In 1991, Drs. Settle and Shontz opened a second practice, All Animals Veterinary Hospital, to serve the West Sanford, Lee County, and Chatham County communities. All Animals Veterinary Hospital caters to all small animal patients. The practice relocated to its current state-of-the-art facility on Animal Avenue in 2007. The enthusiastic and experienced support staff is committed to continuing education at All Animals Veterinary Hospital, where each and every client is greeted with a smile.
Please join us in welcoming former owners Dr. John Shontz, Chief of Staff, and Dr. Katherine Settle, as well as associate veterinarians Dr. Maria Kenny of Sanford Animal Hospital and Drs. Cindy Jones and Jennifer Derby of All Animals Veterinary Hospital; and their respective support teams to the VetCor family. These two highly regarded practices have built strong ties in the North Carolina veterinary community.
