Disaster Preparedness for Practices & Pets

Safety is an important part of the Life at VetCor program. We value doing the right thing for the benefit of all our employees, clients and patients. Ensuring that everyone goes home safe and sound each day by following basic safety protocols is imperative to us.

Safety extends beyond the everyday hazards of life in a practice. Disaster preparedness is another important part of keeping our teams and families safe. September is Disaster Preparedness Month, and a great time to highlight the importance of keeping our community safe. Follow these simple steps to create a plan.

  • The first thing you need to do is take care of your own pets. Use the emergency action plan link to create a disaster preparedness plan for your family.
  • Disasters can strike unexpectedly. Be sure to create a disaster preparedness plan for your practice, too! You can’t take care of pets in your community unless your practice is prepped to handle its own unexpected situations.
  • Finally, make sure everyone within the practice is safe on a daily basis. Use this safety bulletin checklist to avoid common, yet preventable, workplace accidents.

Protect the ones you love! Being prepared for unexpected situations both at home and at work can make a huge difference in the lives of your team, clients, patients, and pets within your community.
