At Home Veterinary Care Joins VetCor

At Home Veterinary Care in West Gardiner, Maine is the newest addition to the VetCor family, becoming our 291st partner practice and our 15th location in the great state of Maine.

At Home Veterinary Care in West Gardiner, MEDr. John Flowers and his wife, Ellen, founded At Home Veterinary Care in 1999. For four years, it served as a house call practice but eventually moved into a building and evolved into the great animal hospital it is today.

A graduate of Cornell University, Dr. Flowers received a DVM degree in 1996. He is a member of the Maine Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), the American Veterinary Medicine Association (AVMA), and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Dr. Flowers and his wife are passionate about serving their community and do so through their church.

Dr. Flowers works alongside Drs. Heather Crispell and Rachel O’Brien. Dr. Crispell graduated from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2013 and has worked in the fields of neuroscience and biomedical research. A 2017 graduate of Purdue University, Dr. O’Brien has found her passion in client education, radiology, and cardiology.

The doctors are supported by Hospital Manager, Valerie Hanson, and a solid team of veterinary technicians, technician assistants, and receptionists who vary by skill and specialty. They are known for both their compassionate care and their positive demeanor.

Though it has a permanent home now, At Home Veterinary Care still offers house calls to pet owners who have difficulty getting out of the house via their specially equipped veterinary care truck. In addition to that, they offer their clients a wide variety of services, including wellness exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and surgery.
