WORK-LIFE BALANCE. If this caught your eye, let me tell you more about a hospital that truly believes in this!
Hawks Prairie Veterinary Hospital is located in gorgeous Lacey, Washington. Yep, the Pacific Northwest! Ocean to the west, mountains to the east, major cities to the north and south. What’s not to love? Hawks is a full-service small animal hospital with 6 associates who are looking for that 7th ‘unicorn’ veterinarian—you know the one, who has some experience under their belt, is hard-working but also fun-loving, is compassionate, has a great sense of humor and who plays well with others. Does that sound like you? Then read on…
We have the usual bells and whistles you’d expect—digital dental X-ray, 2 surgery suites, in-house labs as well as send-out services, ultrasound, radio-surgical unit, medical laser and more. But it’s what else we offer that sets us apart: we offer a place where you’re working with other vets who are happy to teach, but also happy to learn as well. Our vets have their special interests, including acupuncture & herbal therapy, advanced surgeries, pocket pet medicine, behavior & ultrasonography. If you have a specific interest, we’ll help you grow it. Because when we stop learning, we start stagnating.
And do we have an amazing support staff! We’re a big hospital (literally, almost 7,000 square feet!) with almost 30 awesome employees to support our doctors. And we are firm believers in being a teaching hospital. We believe in teaching at every level, and have staff who have grown within the hospital to become exceptional CSRs, wonderful vet assistants and doctor’s assistants (yes, each vet has their own assistant!), and amazing LVTs!
OK, what else? Oh, the nitty gritty: A great hospital manager, benefits that include a prosal compensation model with a salary range of $110k-$125k based on experience, medical benefits (health, dental and vision), 401K, an employee assistance program (EAP), a pretty generous CE allowance, plenty of vacation time, coverage of professional dues, liability coverage, pet care discounts, clothing allowance, and so much more. So take the next step and apply today! We’d love to tell you more!
I would highly recommend anyone to work for a Vetcor clinic because of all the available resources they offer to their employees! These resources vary from continuing education to the importance of mental health and not burning out. Stonebridge has been one of the best places I have worked and has done nothing but help me pursue my goal of becoming an LVT.
There are programs including VetLife Days and Lend-a-Hand that allow you to spend time at other clinics. I have met some wonderful colleagues this way and have also been able to expand my leadership skills within Vetcor. I actually learned that I love teaching and supporting other veterinarians, especially new graduates. I love soft tissue surgery, so to be able to pass on that knowledge and skill set to new grads, giving them the confidence and skills they need to excel, has been very rewarding. It has been an amazing journey with Vetcor so far and I am excited to continue to be part of this amazing group.
The mentorship and advice from the Vetcor Chief of Staff Advisors have helped me become a better veterinarian and surgeon. They have filled me with confidence in order to become a better leader. Vetcor has been a great corporation to work for.
There is a career path for everybody and not a one size fits all approach.
